Trust Administration is the process of settling a trust by distributing the property and paying creditors and taxes, if necessary. Sometimes, trusts are created under a Will and are funded in probate. In those cases, the trust will continue after the probate estate is closed. On the other hand, some trusts are established while someone is living (Inter-Vivos), and may either be terminated upon the creator’s death or continue after death, depending on the terms of the trust.
The administration of a trust may also be confusing and appear simpler than it really is. Making a mistake in the administration of your trust could be very costly.
